Today I have a vintage and very rustic looking mix media canvas to share. I’m sorry for not uploading for soo long as I was busy with other commitments. I have been working on some mix media projects lately and I am really enjoying it! I have started hoarding mix media supplies now but also found some affordable alternatives which I will be sharing in a separate blog post. Now onto my project…
- Canvas Pad
- Papericious white crackle paste
- Papericious lattice chipboard
- Finnabair black gesso
- Finnabair white sand texture paste
- Finnabair 3D gloss gel
- Finnabair art alchemy metallic paints in shade – plum preserves, steampunk copper, ancient coin
- Prima designer flourish stencil
For this project, I also used some metal charms, resin roses, cardboard pieces, random metal junk, pearl millet grains, micro mini beads, metal chain, my handmade flowers.
Firstly, I covered my canvas board with white crackle paste and also stencilled some on the cardboard pieces and frame. After the paste was dry and the crackles started appearing I gave a light coat of black gesso. I glued all the pieces and embellishments using the 3D gloss gel and also applied some mini beads and grains in the corners and primed with gesso.
I started painting with the shade plum preserves using a light hand and highlighted a few areas with steampunk copper and further highlighted with the shade ancient coin. I just love the finish of these art alchemy paints. The metal chain is also glued using 3D gloss gel.
I hope you found my creation inspirational, Thank you for stopping by!
