Today I have a special explosion box to share that I made for my mum. I know it’s not mother’s day or her birthday, but hey, do we have to wait for a special day to make our mothers feel loved and appreciated, we don’t because every day is mother’s day. I was initially going to make a pop out kitchen card and Pinterest has soo many inspirations for kitchen cards then I saw a kitchen explosion box from Stampin up and I decided to make this. This is a very fun explosion box with a lot of miniature crafting.
The box measures 9 by 9 cms. The papers are from the Papericious vintage rosewood premium collection. I have stencilled some brown texture paste on the outside for that I coloured my texture paste by mixing some dark brown acrylic colour and the script stencil is from itsy bitsy. For the lid, I made some curly roses along with some mini roses and rose buds and also used some mulberry leaves.
Inside for the kitchen space, I glued two sides of the box together. All the objects in the kitchen are measured and hand cut by me I have not used any dies. For the little window, I have cut a small piece out from one sidewall where I want the window to be and using that piece as a guide I drew the window frame and did some fussy cutting! I used toothpicks for making the cabinet knobs by cutting them into small pieces and painted them. The miniature objects like the hot plates and the cookies are made of 2 and 3mm wide quilling strips, I have tightly coiled the quilling strips.
I made pockets on the other two sides to slide in handwritten notes.I have cut paper doilies to make the pockets and distressed the edges of the paper doily using distress ink in the shade vintage photo. I have stuck some tiny roses, these are the tiniest I have ever made they are even smaller than the mini roses that I generally make.
Hope you liked it, Thanks for stopping by!
