Explosion Box : Boat Garden

Hello everyone,

I am back with another explosion box. This one is a love themed romantic box made for a couple. I had soo much fun making it and couldn’t wait to share it. On the inside of the box, I have made a boat garden that you already know by the title of this post. I hope you like it!

The box is of the standard size 9*9 cms. The papers used are from the Eno greeting paper pack Elegant flower set. The heart die cuts are from cheery Lynn designs – two of heart die – DL128,  heart to heart doily set DL106.

On the outside of the box and the lid, I have added some texture with a stencil and on the top, I have stuck the die cutouts and my handmade mini paper roses (I love making my own flowers :))

On the center, the boat is stuck diagonally. On the base, I have stuck some pieces of cheesecloth and some large and tiny pearls to create a soft and dreamy look to my project. The boat is made up of white box board sheet. The base of the boat is 8 cms long and the top part is 11.3 cms approx. The inside hollow part of the boat is stuffed with a floral sponge, for that, I took a block of floral sponge and trimmed it to the size of the boat and placed it inside. For the love you center I took a die cutout and wrote the letters and did some fussy cutting and added some glitter on the letters and placed it inside the sponge by making a small horizontal cut at the center of the sponge.

All the flowers and fillers are handmade by me. I made some mini roses and left the wire uncut from the bottom of the flower, to fill the boat I made lots of filler bunches, for the filler bunch I punched some tiny flowers and shaped it with a small round ball stylus and glued the base of the flower to a thin quilling strip and then bunched and wired them using a floral tape and I also made some flower creepers and arranged everything by pushing the wire from the flowers inside the sponge and left the flower creepers hanging outside.

For the sides, I made different cards for each side as I had to fit in a lot of photos. I have left blank spaces for the photos. On one side I made an open gate style card and inside a simple flap open style card.

On the other side, I made a squash card.

On the third side is a Waterfall card, in this card the pages turn when the side tab is pulled.

Finally, on the last side, I made a heart shutter card which looks like an open gate style card from outside, a picture will be stuck inside the heart when the card is opened the heart opens along and reveals the picture and shuts when the card is closed.

Hope you liked it, Happy crafting!
