Today I’m sharing my Honeycomb quilling flower photo frame also created for a custom order. I kept waiting for a sunny day so I could take a few photos of this project but I didn’t have much luck with that as it’s been very cloudy and gloomy for the past days and it still is.
For this project, I decided to make the honeycomb flowers or the beehive technique, I really love the lacy look it gives and I enjoy making those continuous loops of tiny swirls. I also made some heart and eye shaped flowers and included some flower buds with it and arranged everything with the simple eye-shaped leaves. I really like how it turned out and I hope you like it too!
The total size of the frame is 24.5*22cms and the inside oval cut is 9.5cms wide and 11.5cms long. The diameter of the biggest flower is 4cms and the smaller ones are approx 3cms. All the flowers, buds and leaves are made using 3mm wide paper strips. For the flower centers, I have used wire pollens, half pearls, and tightly coiled circles of paper strips.
Everything is assembled on a laser cut oval cardboard frame. To preserve my artwork I put it inside a wood-framed deep shadow box. unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to take the finished framed photos of this project.
Thank You for visiting, Happy Quilling!
